This Week At The Resort

2008 marks Kumsheen's 35th Anniversary!

Can you believe it? It's already been 35 years since Bernie's Raft Rides started commercial rafting on the Thompson and Fraser rivers. The idea became a reality in 1973 with a little Avon raft and Volkswagen van. Now 35 years later, Kumsheen Rafting Resort is still run by Bernie and his wife Lorna.

Nowadays, there is more to the resort vacation than just whitewater rafting. Kumsheen has facilities which include the Cutting Board restaurant, outdoor hot tub and pool, deluxe cabin tent accommodations, teepees, RV sites and Nicomen House. Nicomen Falls sets the backdrop to a patio and Nicomen House where we host receptions, weddings, family reunions, and staff getaways. Phone us toll free at 1-800-663-6667 for more information.

“THEN AND NOW” contest

Write your stories and submit photos of your own Kumsheen experience. Go as far back as you can. We want to hear about the raft guide you had, or if you guided yourself, where you are now, if the resort actually existed back then, what trip you went on… include funny stories. Then dig out an old photo... more than likely, it won't be on a digital camera and scan it in. Submit your stories and photos by February 10th to maya@kumsheen.com and if you're selected for the 2008 Catalogue, you will receive a $100 gift certificate towards any package for this summer (based on availability). I thank you in advance for your creativity and nostalgia!
