The river snakes through hot, desert-like country (325 blue-sky days every year), mixing calm stretches with huge whitewater action. Lurking in the last 16 km (10 miles) above Lytton are 18 heart-thumping rapids with chilling names like the Jaws of Death, Devil's Kitchen, Witches Cauldron and Washing Machine. Sometimes the 15-foot waves tower above you before crashing down like a frothing green locomotive. Package #2 Two-Day Rafting Getaway
Float through stunning, desert-like badlands - sagebrush, ponderosa pine, prickly pear cactus - and over fifty sets of rapids with your classmates on this two-day windup celebration. The first day is highlighted by Black Canyon, a 150 million year old sedimentary canyon wall with a powerful rapid in its gorge and a Golden Eagle as sentinel on it cliffs. There is good whitewater enroute but also easy drifting to Spences Bridge. From Spences Bridge you are bussed to the Kumsheen Rafting Resort for a buffet dinner, fun at the resort, and a stay over. On day 2, after a hearty breakfast in the morning, you are shuttled back to the rafts at Spences Bridge for more of the river's legendary rapids. The Devil's Gorge begins at The Frog rapid and finishes at the Jaws of Death, the seventh rapid in the series. You run eleven more great rapids before arriving at the river takeout in Lytton. For two days that will waken all your senses, bond your class, and create memories that will last for a lifetime, choose this package. Package #3 - Two Day Raft & Relax Package
This two day package combines our legendary One Day Thompson River excursion (Package #1) with a relaxing day at our resort. One day grads relax around the spa or swimming pool, play volleyball, pitch horseshoes, shoot baskets, go for a walk or hike, and generally spend time together as a class. The second day they run the whitewater of the Thompson from Spences Bridge to Lytton (see package #1 for a trip description). For a great day of rafting and a fun day at our resort, choose this package. Includes: 1 night resort camping; 2 lunches (one riverside); 1 dinner, 1 breakfast; all rafting gear; rain gear; personalized River Rat Certificate; full use of resort facilities; all the features of our standard One Day Thompson River Rafting Package.
