Package #1: Full-Day Legendary Thompson River Trip with Canvas Cabins, Meals and the Memories Option

This is BC’s most popular river trip, pioneered by Bernie Fandrich in 1973, and our most popular one-night dry grad package.

DAY 1

  • Arrive in time for dinner in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Stay in the Canvas Cabins

DAY 2

  • Check out of the Canvas Cabins
  • Breakfast in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Full-day Legendary Thompson River power or paddle rafting trip, including riverside lunch at Nicomen House
  • Return to the Resort to check out the daily photos and video and enjoy use of the Resort facilities (swimming pool, hot tub, volleyball, basketball, disc golf, etc.)
  • Grab a “to-go” pizza, sandwich or wrap dinner from the Restaurant and depart

POST TRIP

  • The Memories Option includes a DVD and a photo CD for each student, featuring the day’s trip photos and video, which will be mailed to your school

THE RAFTING

Thompson River, Spences Bridge to Lytton (40 km)

Before lunch, the river snakes through hot desert-like terrain, mixing calm, flat stretches (perfect for swimming beside the raft) with huge, rolling waves.

At Nicomen, the river enters the Devil’s Gorge, unleashing its fury in eighteen unforgettable rapids like the Jaws of Death, Devil’s Kitchen, and Witches’ Cauldron.


- Paddle rafting is water-level dependent in May & June.

- One chaperone rafts free for every 9 students!

Package #2: Half-Day Devil's Gorge Run with Breakfast, Lunch and Memories Option

This famous stretch of whitewater is synonymous with the Thompson River and perfect for those who don't have time for a full day or longer trip. It's a no frills/all thrills excursion through the 18 rapids that made rafting in the west famous.

DAY 1

  • Arrive in time for breakfast in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Half-day Devil’s Gorge Run in power or paddle rafts
  • Return to the Resort for lunch in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Check out the daily photos and video and enjoy use of the Resort facilities (swimming pool, hot tub, volleyball, basketball, disc golf, etc.)
  • Board the bus to head home

POST TRIP

  • The Memories Option includes a DVD and a photo CD for each student, featuring the day’s trip photos and video, which will be mailed to your school

THE RAFTING

Thompson River, Nicomen Falls to Lytton (16 km)

The Devil’s Gorge has great scenery, but you won’t have much time to enjoy it!  Get on board the raft and seconds later crash through eighteen unforgettable rapids like the Jaws of Death, Devil’s Kitchen, and Fluffy Bunny.

Package #3: Two-Day Desert Getaway with Camping, Meals and the Memories Option

This “River Escape” floats you through 40 sets of rapids and stunning desert-like badlands and includes a comfortable stayover at the Kumsheen Resort.   

DAY 1

  • Check in at the Kumsheen Rafting Resort at 8:45 am, or meet us in Ashcroft at 10 am
  • Full-day power or paddle rafting trip from Ashcroft to Spences Bridge, through Black Canyon and other rapids, including a riverside lunch
  • Dinner in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Camp at the Resort

 DAY 2

  • Check out of the campground
  • Breakfast in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Full-day rafting trip from Spences Bridge to Lytton, including riverside lunch at Nicomen House
  • Return to the Resort to check out the daily photos and video and enjoy use of the Resort facilities (swimming pool, hot tub, volleyball, basketball, disc golf, etc.)
  • Grab a “to-go” pizza, sandwich or wrap dinner from the Restaurant and depart

THE RAFTING

Thompson River, Ashcroft to Lytton (80 km)

The first day mixes float sections with whitewater and scenery, and offers plenty of time for swimming next to the raft or lounging in the sunshine.  Black Canyon, a 150-million year old sedimentary canyon wall with a powerful rapid in its gorge, is the highlight.

On the second day, you brave the famous rapids of the lower Thompson River, including the Devil’s Gorge.

Package #4: Two-Day Raft & Relax Package with Canvas Cabins, Meals and the Memories Option

This is a perfect two-day getaway for spending time together as a class.  It combines our Legendary Thompson River trip with a second day of relaxing and enjoying the pool, hot tub, and other resort amenities.  It’s great if you’d like to do some rafting and also have time for resort lounging and your own group activities.   

DAY 1

  • Arrive in time for breakfast in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Full-day Legendary Thompson River power or paddle rafting trip, including riverside lunch at Nicomen House

Package #5: Two-Day Big Water Excursion with Camping and Meals

September weather and water levels are ideal for this run, so it’s perfect for groups looking for an exciting jumpstart to the school year.  It features some of the largest waves commercially rafted anywhere in the world!

DAY 1

  • Check in at the Kumsheen Resort
  • Full-day Legendary Thompson River power or paddle rafting trip, including riverside lunch at Nicomen House
  • Return to the Resort to check out the daily photos and video and enjoy use of the Resort facilities (swimming pool, hot tub, volleyball, basketball, disc golf, etc.)
  • Dinner in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Camp at the Resort

DAY 2

  • Check out of the campground
  • Breakfast in the Cutting Board Restaurant
  • Full-day Hell’s Gate Run in power rafts, including a hearty riverside lunch
  • Finish the day with  multiple runs of everyone’s favourite Sailor Bar Rapid
  • Depart for home from Yale, or return to the Resort to enjoy use of the facilities before departing

THE RAFTING

Thompson River, Spences Bridge to Lytton (40 km) and Fraser River, Boston Bar to Yale (50 km)

On the first day, brave the 18 biggest rapids of the Thompson River between Spences Bridge and Lytton.

World-famous Hell’s Gate Rapid is the highlight of the second day, but half a dozen other rapids each hold their own surprises.  Alternating between gigantic rapids and calm stretches, this mighty river gives you time to absorb the beauty of the rugged Fraser Canyon and bond as a group as you float.
