Fundraising Ideas

Dry Grads have shared with us how they were able to help pay for their rafting adventure with Kumsheen. Here are some of their ideas:

CAPP Program Almost all grads are required to perform 25 hours of community service in order to graduate. Arrange with the Dry Grad committee for every extra hour of community service performed, $5.00 of the cost of the raft trip be paid for through the school. Grads pay for the trip with their time, and the school, or the dry grad committee covers the cost. Examples of community service we've heard about include clothing drives, environmental clean-ups, and serving holiday dinners for the less fortunate.
Walk-a-thons and bottle drives are classic examples that work well.
Students can hire themselves out in teams to do yard work in the community. Pre-selling and preparing food of all kinds is also a big part of many Dry Grad fundraising programs. Pails of cookie dough, apple pies, and even burritos are some of the food items we've heard of students preparing and selling to help their cause. We'd be happy to put you in touch with other Dry Grad groups who have raised funds for their raft adventures with Kumsheen.
