Kayak and Raft

1 Day Kayaking & 1 Day Rafting

Top 5 Reasons to Go

  • You’re an adventurous soul
  • You need to spice up a ho-hum Monday…or Tuesday…or Wednesday…
  • You’ve always wanted to try kayaking
  • You need some new bragging rights
  • You love the taste of water in your ears

Okay, this isn’t for everyone but if you are into doing something off the wall, then you may have found what you’re looking for.

You start in the morning in the swimming pool at the Kumsheen Resort. Once you have the basic idea of how to sit and balance, how to get in and out of the kayak, what to do if you roll over, how to paddle and spit water at the same time, and how to signal “I’m over here”, you qualify for the real thing.

We load the sit-on-top kayaks onto our special kayak trailer and you into the van and head upriver past Spences Bridge. More lessons before you get into your kayak and then finally you point your yellow craft downriver, following the kayak guide.

Then the fun begins, and hopefully no carnage. We intelligently keep the kayak guide to paddler ratio very low so if you need help someone is there to extend a paddle.

You must be a very competent swimmer, have no fear of water, and be in good physical condition in order to participate in this tour.
